About Erik
Erik Lutz’s music can be heard in many of the biggest film and television scores over the past few decade. Recently, Erik has contributed music to Anne Rice’s “The Mayfair Witches” on AMC and Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol” on Peacock. He has also contributed music to the chilling and action packed Purge franchise, TNT’s The Last Ship, and the AAA video games Days Gone, Back 4 Blood, and the Far Cry 6 DLCs Insanity, Control, & Collapse. Erik, a versatile composer in his own right, has scored projects spanning documentaries, horror/thriller, animation, drama, and comedy. Erik’s music can also be heard on many of the biggest television networks including, AMC. SYFY, Discovery, History Channel, BBC, PBS, and HBO.He also contributed commercial music to several companies including; Canada Goose, Chevy, Lincoln, AT&T, Carling, and Dr. Scholl’s.
Lutz has studied music since age three. After years of music instruction in; bassoon, piano, percussion, and music theory, he began to gravitate towards composition.
Erik graduated with a BA in both Music Composition and Bassoon Performance from Florida State University. While at FSU, he scored several student films, participated in a wide range of musical ensembles, and further explored music for media. Upon graduation, Erik relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in Film Scoring.
